!NEW! Highlights of the JCAS2024

The Japan Climate Initiative (JCI) will hold the Japan Climate Action Summit (JCAS) 2024 on Friday, October 18, 2024.

This year is an important year in which the 7th Strategic Energy Plan of Japan, which will set the future course for Japan’s climate change policy, will be formulated. In other words, this is Japan’s last chance to strengthen its climate policy and keep our hopes alive for achieving the common global 1.5℃ target.

At the JCAS2024, we will take this important opportunity to bring together Japan’s non-state actors with diverse perspectives to discuss Japan’s climate change policy, the possibility of expanding renewable energy, and fostering a sense of crisis in each of us.

Speakers will include global leaders who promote climate action around the world, as well as leaders and experts from companies, universities, youth groups, media and sports. We will have a heated discussion about the future of Japan’s climate change policies and measures.

We hope that these discussions will raise awareness of climate change throughout society, invigorate discussion for better policy changes, and serve as an opportunity to further advance our efforts.

This is a major annual event of JCI where you can get a good overview of the current situation in Japan surrounding climate change issues.

We look forward to seeing many people from all over Japan participating both in person and online!
