Alliances for Climate Action, a global alliance of domestic coalitions of non-state and subnational actors, organized an online event “A Whole-of-Society Approach to the Race to Zero” as a side event of Asia Pacific Climate Week 2021. It was co-organized with three coalitions of the Alliances for Climate Action in the Asia-Pacific region, the Japan Climate Initiative, the Viet Nam Coalition for Climate Action and the up and coming Better Futures Australia alliance.

As a representative of the Japan Climate Initiative, Toshiko CHIBA from Bureau of Environment, Tokyo Metropolitan Government joined a panel session in the event.
