Race To Zero, a global campaign promoted by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), released its 2023 Progress Report on December 6.<\/p>\n
The 2023 Progress Report<\/a><\/p>\n Race To Zero is a global campaign rallying non-state actors \u2013 including companies, cities, regions, financial, educational, and healthcare institutions \u2013 to take rigorous and immediate action to halve global emissions by 2030 and deliver a healthier, fairer zero carbon world. Currently, approximately 13,500 organizations worldwide are participating in Race To Zero, taking action to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and move to net zero by 2050 at the latest.<\/p>\n JCI Race To Zero Circle, a member circle of the Japan Climate Initiative (JCI), is an official partner of Race To Zero campaign and is encouraging non-state actors from Japan to participate in Race To Zero. This year\u2019s progress report covers several of JCI’s activities.<\/p>\n \u25a0Race To Zero 2023 progress<\/p>\n There are now approximately 13,500 Race To Zero members, an increase of more than 2,000 since the last progress report and nearly double the number since its launch at COP26 in 2021.<\/p>\n The new members come from 30 new countries and now cover 146 countries.
