1. What is Race To Zero?<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n

Race to Zero is a global campaign rallying non-state actors \u2013 including companies, cities, regions, financial, educational, and healthcare institutions \u2013 to take rigorous and immediate action to halve global emissions by 2030 and deliver a healthier, fairer zero carbon world by 2050 at latest.
\nLed by the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions, the campaign drives real world momentum into the UN Climate Change negotiations.
\nIt mobilizes a coalition of leading net zero initiatives (Official Partners<\/a>), representing over 11,000 members (as of the end of 2022) who are committed to the same overarching goal: reducing emissions across all scopes swiftly and fairly in line with the Paris Agreement, with transparent action plans and robust near-term targets.
\nTo join and remain in the Race To Zero through the official partners, members are required to meet the Race To Zero criteria<\/a>: Pledge, Plan, Proceed, Publish and Persuade<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

2. How to join the Race To Zero via the JCI Race to Zero Circle<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n

The Race to Zero Circle, a member circle of the Japan Climate Initiative (JCI), is one of the official partners and helps JCI members participate in the Race To Zero. JCI members can participate in the Race To Zero by joining the Race to Zero Circle with a commitment to meet the five criteria of the Race To Zero. In order for Japan to contribute to the decarbonization of the world, JCI will support our members’ efforts toward the earliest possible net-zero emissions by 2050.<\/p>\n
